The PDO thread lift is an advanced aesthetic procedure that safely and instantly lifts and tightens loose skin on the face, neck, and body with minimal downtime. Before the PDO thread lifts, your only option for drooping jowls and cheeks was a facelift. Now, we can restore your youthful look without the need for invasive surgery.
How does the PDO thread lift work?
Threads inserted under the skin and they sink into the skin deeper over time putting more tension on the thread and tightening the connected skin. Tissue begins to grow around the threads and the threads eventually dissolve, leaving behind the tissue which holds the lifted skin in place. Immediate results can be experienced by many patients even though the results usually continue to improve over the 6 month period following procedure. This is mainly due to the growth of collagen around the threads which act as facial filler helping to fill and smooth the skin even more. Although threads will give improvement in laxity, it will not correct all your facial laxity.

How long does a PDO thread lift last?
The authors of a 2019 study found that a PDO thread lift caused immediate improvements in skin sagging after the procedure. However, there was a noticeable decline in results 6 months later. Improvements were no longer apparent after 1 year.
In a study published in Aesthetic Surgery Journal, a surgeon with 16 years of thread lift experience says he has seen results last anywhere from 1 to 9 years. Younger people tend to have results that last 3 to 4 years. Older people with poor skin volume or elasticity tend to only see benefits for 1 to 2 years.
PLA and PCA thread lifts tend to last longer since the sutures take longer to dissolve.
